Lytle & Barszcz Successfully Secures Settlement for Additional group of Salaried Sedgwick Employees.

Lytle & Barszcz is pleased to announce a settlement for a group of salaried employees at Sedgwick holding the position of “Return to Work Specialist.”
This settlement follows a $5.6 million settlement on behalf of salaried employees in the matter of Easterwood et al. v. Sedgwick Claims Management Services, Inc.
As was the case in Easterwood, these employees in the positions of Return to Work Specialist were misclassified as exempt from overtime by Sedgwick, and were not paid overtime despite regularly working more than forty (40) hours per workweek.
Many times, employers including insurance companies will misclassify a series of positions with varying titles such as Disability Representative Sr. and Return to Work Specialist. It can often be confusing to tell whether or not you fall under an exemption, especially if your employer has told you that you are not entitled to overtime pay.
If you have worked more than forty hours in a workweek and have not been paid overtime, even if you are classified as salaried,  contact Lytle & Barszcz today to learn more.  Our consultations are free.
